The new pelagic vessel “Rogne” has arrived at Rogne quay in Leinevika, Herøy, marking the delivery of the fourth ship to carry the name in the family-owned fleet.
The 83-metre snurper and trawler was completed following close cooperation between the owner and the yard, with both parties stating satisfaction with the final result.
Built in Poland, delivered by a Danish yard
The vessel’s hull was built at Karstensens Shipyard in Gdansk, Poland, a subsidiary of the Danish shipbuilder Karstensens Skibsværft.
The design, layout, and technical solutions were developed in close dialogue between the yard and the owner. The vessel is based on the yard’s own pelagic design, also used for vessels delivered to Nordic operators.
Family-owned company continues expansion
The Rogne company was founded in 1965 by Bjarte Rogne. It is now run by the next generation: Frank, Kjell-Ove and Per-Magne Rogne.
The previous “Rogne” was delivered as a newbuilding in April 2013. The fleet operates a combined trawl and purse seine fishery.
Trawling mainly targets blue whiting off the west coast of Ireland. Purse seine fishing focuses on herring and mackerel.
The new vessel will follow the same operating model.
Focus on efficiency, safety and comfort
The vessel has been tailored to the owner’s requirements, with a strong focus on working conditions, safety and crew comfort.
Design work has also prioritised fuel efficiency. This includes hull optimisation and systems such as engine heat recovery to reduce energy use.
The vessel is equipped with two main engines and flexible power systems to support both trawl and purse seine operations efficiently.
