Denmark will host its largest marine science gathering of the year on 20–22 January 2026, when the 23rd Danish Marine Science Meeting opens at the Konventum conference centre in Helsingør.

The event brings together researchers, authorities, companies and decision-makers from across marine science and marine management.

The three-day meeting is already fully booked. Organisers say demand reflects strong interest in the link between science, policy and practical marine management in Denmark and the wider Nordic region.

Industry and research meet face to face

Companies and organisations are invited to take part as exhibitors or sponsors. The setup is designed to provide direct access to scientists, regulators, and decision-makers and to support dialogue on the marine environment, biodiversity, technology, and governance.

The programme spans marine biodiversity, climate change, fisheries, restoration, pollution and new monitoring tools. Sessions run in parallel across several halls, with live streaming between the main auditoriums. Keynotes and poster sessions are spread over all three days.

According to the organisers, the meeting continues a long Danish tradition. Since the early 1980s, the Danish Marine Science Meeting has served as a key forum for researchers and stakeholders from ministries, agencies, NGOs, and industry.

The venue is accessible by direct train from Copenhagen Airport and central Copenhagen, with local transport links from Helsingør train station.
