The first day of DanFish International 2025 has come and gone – and it could hardly have been stronger. More than 12,000 visitors from over 50 nations filled the Aalborg Kongres & Kultur Centre on Tuesday, making it one of the busiest openings in the event’s history.

With 400 exhibitors from 30 countries, the halls were packed with technology, innovation and new partnerships. From early handshakes at the doors to late-night talks at the stands, the atmosphere was one of energy, cooperation, and an international outlook.

Focus on sustainability and global dialogue

In his opening speech, CEO Nicolaj Holm emphasised the role of DanFish as a meeting place for the industry at a pivotal moment.

“DanFish International 2025 is more relevant than ever, as we bring together stakeholders from around the world to find solutions to the challenges facing the fishing industry,” he said.

Exhibitors showcased new gear and digital tools designed to reduce fuel use, improve selectivity, and minimise waste. Many spoke of greener fleets and more innovative ways to secure the future of global fish stocks.

Aalborg is filled with international energy

The impact was felt not only inside the venue but across Aalborg, with hotels, restaurants and streets buzzing in many languages.

Organisers thanked exhibitors and visitors alike for creating what they called a “unique DanFish atmosphere”.

The fair continues for two more days, promising even more networking, fresh ideas and international collaboration.
