AL Sydbank and Fiskeri Tidende will host two open fisheries conferences in Hvide Sande on 16 January 2026 and in Thyborøn on 29 January 2026, introducing a new, locally focused format to bring industry debate closer to working fishers and port communities.

The conferences will take place at Hvide Sande Røgeri and Thyborøn Fiskeauktions Centre. Both events are open to the public and focus on current challenges, local conditions, and future framework rules for Danish fisheries.

New local format

The organisers say the new format reflects the local roots of the fishing industry. The goal is to meet fishers where they work and focus on issues that matter at the harbour level, rather than solely on national policy.

Each conference features short talks from key local actors. The sessions aim to present diverse perspectives on how fisheries are developing and what lies ahead.

Speakers from ports, auctions and industry

In Hvide Sande, speakers include representatives from Sydvestjysk Fiskeriforening, Danske Fiskeauktioner, Hvide Sande Havn and Danmarks Fiskeriforening.

In Thyborøn, the programme includes speakers from Danske Fiskeauktioner, Thyborøn Havns Fiskeriforening, Thyborøn Havn and TripleNine Thyborøn.

According to the organisers, the mix of speakers is meant to reflect both operational and strategic perspectives from the local fisheries sector.
