Danish pelagic fish landings fell sharply in the first three months of 2026. Total volume reached 68,859 tonnes. That is down 28% from 2025 and 38% from 2024. The total value was DKK 202.3 million (approximately EUR 27.1 million). This is close to 2025 despite lower volumes.
Skagen remains dominant
Skagen stayed the largest landing port. It handled 35,228 tonnes worth DKK 150.2 million (about EUR 20.1 million). This is a clear drop from 52,444 tonnes in 2025 and 56,525 tonnes in 2024.
Thyborøn ranked second with 8,264 tonnes worth DKK 37.3 million (around EUR 5.0 million). Volumes also fell here.
Egersund, Norway, recorded 13,679 tonnes in 2026. No value data is available. Fuglafjørður landed 3,876 tonnes worth DKK 11.6 million (about EUR 1.6 million).
Danish ports lose volume
Danish ports show a steady decline. Thyborøn dropped from 18,126 tonnes in 2024 to 8,264 tonnes in 2026. Grenå is no longer among the leading ports.
At the same time, foreign ports gained share. Egersund increased from 11,632 tonnes in 2025 to 13,679 tonnes in 2026.
Higher value per kilo
Total value has not fallen at the same pace as volume. In 2025, landings reached 95,365 tonnes worth DKK 211.3 million (around EUR 28.3 million). In 2024, the figures were 111,304 tonnes and DKK 448.9 million (about EUR 60.1 million).
This suggests a higher price per kilo in 2026. The data does not include species breakdown.
